Currency Exchange

Currency Exchange

Due to Budapest being a hotspot for toruists, there are many currency exchange offices scattered around the cities. Here the same rules apply as everywhere around the world: please do not exchange money by street vendors, but always manage the exchange in official exchange offices. The hotel, unfortunately, is not licensed to exhange money.

Credit/Debit Card payment is highly available in 98% of the shops.

Most of the exchange offices in the city are not open on Sunday, so if you arrive on May 22, you may want to consider changing a smaller amount of money at the airport (where exchange rates are often higher) or use your debit/credit card.

While  exchange offices are highly trustworthy, please always double check the advertised exchange and handling rates displayed by the billboards with the exchange officer and count the money (and complain if need may be) before leaving the premises.
