As part of the European-wide Global Education Week initiative, the Department of Global and Development Studies is organizing an information session and discussion for students on international mobility opportunities available through the Erasmus and CEEPUS programmes that allow students to study outside the EU.

The main message of the event, entitled “Take the Extra Step,” is to encourage students to take the leap, step outside their comfort zones, and look beyond mobility opportunities within the EU. These options are currently less well known and attract fewer applicants.

The programme will feature first-hand accounts from students who have participated in Erasmus or CEEPUS mobility programmes outside the EU, sharing their experiences in Ecuador, Tanzania and North Macedonia. International students will also give short presentations introducing their home countries, while academic staff will provide information on mobility opportunities and scholarships available in various regions, including Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Western Balkans, Türkiye and the Caucasus. Following the presentations, students will have the opportunity to learn more about the options available in these regions through small-group discussions.

The event is open to the public and will be held in English, without interpretation, at ELTE’s Lágymányos Campus.
