Prepare for Your Entrance Exam

Entrance Examination

Please note that this programme is available exclusively on a self-funded basis. Applications are not accepted during the Early Bird 1 application period.

Type of entrance examination: Oral
Place of entrance examination: Online

Applicants with a complete application package will be notified after the application deadline of the exact date and time of their interview, which will be conducted via MS Teams. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary technical equipment and suitable conditions for the interview.

Applying through the Hungarian Central Admission Procedure

If you apply through the Hungarian Central Admission Procedure, you must submit your application through felvi.hu. An oral entrance examination is also required, but it is held in person rather than online. For information about the admission procedure, please visit felvi.hu. If you have any questions, please contact felveteli@tatk.elte.hu.

Preparation for the Interview

As the programme welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds, the entrance examination is not intended primarily to test specific knowledge. Instead, it aims to assess applicants’ motivation, their understanding of the basic concepts and tools of economics, and their analytical skills necessary to successfully participate in the programme.

To prepare for the entrance examination, applicants are encouraged to consult one of the introductory textbooks listed below. Applicants are not expected to know the material by heart; rather, they should have a good understanding of the most important concepts, principles, and results.

Admission Decision

After the admission interview, applicants will be informed of the selection outcome through the online application system within approximately one month. A successful oral entrance examination is a prerequisite for admission. If an applicant fails the oral entrance examination, their application will be rejected. If the offer is accepted, the admission letter will be sent through the online application system as soon as possible, as specified in the offer decision.

Based on the results, certain applicants may be placed on a waiting list. Final results are expected by the first half of August.
